If a space becomes available, we will accept students, who have complete application files, in the order in which we received their applications.
A complete application file consists of the following items:
- Complete, up-to-date transcript (with embossed stamp or signature from registrar)
- Algebra I, English 10 ECA/ISTEP scores, if applicable
- Discipline reports
- Attendance records
- Copy of birth certificate
- Up-to-date immunizations
- Home Language Survey from current school file
- Custody documentation, if applicable
Also, if you receive special education services, please send the most recent copy of your IEP or 504 AND Psychological Evaluation so our team can work to create appropriate accommodations.
Transfer acceptance letters for second semester will be mailed in mid-December. Applicants who do not receive a spot for second semester will continue to hold a spot on the wait list for the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, unless the applicant’s parent/guardian notifies the Herron High School enrollment office that they would like to be removed from the list.
Students applying for the beginning or the 2017-18 school year will not receive notification of acceptance until May, June or July as current enrollment spots are vacated. Acceptance notification will occur either by phone or email, followed by a formal acceptance packet wich will be mailed to the applicants’s parent/guardian.
Student’s who are accepted into the freshmen class during the second semester of the 2016-17 must take a placement exam. Exams will be scheduled after students are registered.
Children of Herron High School staff and board members, as well as siblings of Herron High School, are given preference during Open Enrollment only. Transfer students who apply during Open Enrollment will be granted spots only as space allows. After the close of Open Enrollment, siblings and children of staff and board members will be subject to all enrollment policies established for new families.
