Herron High School offers a rigorous curriculum that is intentionally designed to benefit all learners. Our academic program supports scholars who need more opportunities to master important academic skills and also provides enrichment opportunities for high-ability learners.
In addition to our core curriculum, which requires students to take four years of Latin, in addition to English, mathematics, science, and social studies, we offer a number of elective courses in fine arts, social sciences, and foreign languages.
Herron High School is a global leader in Advanced Placement (AP) performance. More than three-fourths of our students take at least one AP course during their time as a student, and our average pass rate exceeds Indiana and global averages.
Herron High School helps connect interested students to summer and year-long enrichment opportunities and provides additional resources to support high-ability students.
Herron High School offers two 2.5-week Summer Academe sessions each summer in conjunction with the Harrison Center for the Arts. Summer Academe combines Herron High School’s Core Values and the Harrison Center’s Global Vision for the Arts to create a unique learning experience for your student’s academic and artistic goals during the summer.
Herron High School sees summer as an opportunity to extend learning and prepare for the next level of education and recognizes reading as the most effective means of improving reading comprehension across the curriculum.
