Summer Academy combines Indianapolis Classical Schools’ core values and the Harrison Center’s global vision for the Arts to create a unique learning experience for your student’s academic goals.
Summer Academy is offered to any current or incoming Indianapolis Classical School student.
Summer Academy classes are taught by Indianapolis Classical Schools teachers and affiliates.
Summer Academy courses meet Indiana State Standards.
Summer Academy attendance is required for incoming 9th graders who need academic remediation, as identified by their academic record and placement testing results. Families will be notified if their student is required to attend Summer Academy.
Summer Academy attendance is also required for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who fail a core subject course during the academic year. Current Herron High School students or incoming transfers in need of remediation will be notified by their school counselor. A registration form is still required.

Dates for 2021 Summer Academy sessions are as follows:
Session 1: June 14 – June 30, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday
Session 2: July 14 – July 30, 8 a.m. 2 p.m., Monday – Friday
2021 Summer Academy Registration
Summer Academy will host in-person and 100% virtual sections for most required courses. Students who have struggled to find success in a virtual environment will be encouraged to attend in-person classes. We will continue to follow Marion County Public Health Department’s safety guidelines.
Complete the registration form by May 16 to guarantee your seat for elective classes and to secure your session and virtual/in-person preferences. Submissions after this date may not be honored. Students who received spots at Herron High School during the round 2 lottery process will be granted an extended date listed in their welcome email.
