Applying to Herron

To apply to Herron High School for the 2020-21, please follow the directions below. If you are looking for a mid-year transfer, starting in January 2020, please contact Shannon Hasper:

Herron High School participates in a city-wide enrollment system called Enroll Indy which uses a lottery system to match students with the school of their choice.  

  • Create an account. If you do not have an email, refer to the instructions on the Enroll Indy website. You will need to log in to your email account to verify your Enroll Indy account.
  • Create and remember your password, or write it down in a safe place. You will need this email and password to receive your application results.
  • Fill out the online application, and select Herron High School as your number one choice.
  • Apply by January 31 for the best chance of obtaining a seat for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • When you receive your results (Feb. 20) by email or text message, confirm or decline your offer within 30 days.
  • Fill out all registration forms within 30 days.
  • Sign up and complete a placement exam within 30 days.

Enrollment Windows

Round 1:
Apply between November 1 – January 31; results will be emailed on February 20

Round 2:
Apply between February 1 – April 30; results will be emailed on May 21

Late Enrollment:
Apply after April 30 if spaces are still available. Contact the Enrollment Office at 317-231-0010 ext. 1151 for more information.

Herron High School replicated their model at a second campus, Riverside High School, in 2017. If you are looking for a smaller environment or something closer to the northwest side of Indianapolis, consider applying to Riverside. For information, visit the Riverside High School website.
