Why I Teach?

I decided to go into education because I have had an important teacher in my life who challenged me to take my only Advanced Placement class in High School and to skip a year of foreign language to do it.  He also was the first person to take me to a college campus.  After that, I wanted to be the person to play that part in someone else’s life.

Why ICS?

After falling in love with Latin in High School and deciding on education as a career path, a friend told me about Herron High School when I graduated and was looking for a teaching position.  A classical, college preparatory, public charter school sounded exactly like the kind of school I would have wished to attend as a student.  Once I met the faculty and administration, I knew that this was the place where I belonged.
